In a significant move towards environmental responsibility, the Volksschule Gemeinlebarn and the Allgemeine Sonderschule Traismauer have officially joined the Climate Alliance, marking the conclusion of their collaborative Climate School Project. This initiative was carried out in partnership with the Climate and Energy Model Region Unteres Traisental - Fladnitztal and the HBLA Sitzenberg.

The schools celebrated this achievement with a joint closing event where students showcased a range of projects focused on climate protection and sustainability that they had undertaken throughout the school year. From innovative recycling programs to energy-saving campaigns, the students engaged in diverse activities aimed at raising awareness about the importance of environmental stewardship.

The Climate School Project is designed to empower students to take active roles in tackling climate change and fostering a culture of sustainability within their communities. By integrating hands-on learning experiences, the project has inspired students to think critically about their ecological footprints and the impact of their actions on the environment.

During the event, students presented their findings and initiatives, demonstrating their understanding of climate issues and their commitment to making a difference. Parents, teachers, and local community members attended the celebration, reflecting a shared commitment to environmental education and action.

The partnership with the Climate and Energy Model Region has provided valuable resources and expertise, enabling the schools to implement effective sustainability practices. This collaboration highlights the importance of community involvement in addressing global environmental challenges.

As both schools join the Climate Alliance, they join a larger movement that advocates for sustainable practices and policies. The Climate Alliance aims to bring together various stakeholders to work towards a common goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting renewable energy sources.

This event not only underscores the role of educational institutions in shaping future generations but also serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility we all share in protecting our planet. The commitment shown by the students and their schools is a powerful testament to the potential for change when individuals come together for a common cause.
