Weather Forecast for Student Celebrations and School Graduations

Sun 1st Jun, 2025

As students across Sweden prepare for their graduation celebrations, the weather forecast indicates a typical Swedish summer pattern for the early days of June, according to the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI).

Periods of sunshine will alternate with rain showers. A rain system is expected to move in over the western coast today, progressing northward throughout the evening and into the night.

The northern regions of Norrland may experience lingering rain into Monday, while those in the southern areas can expect variable cloud cover along with localized showers. Temperatures are projected to range between 15 to 20 degrees Celsius in the south and 10 to 15 degrees Celsius in the north. By Tuesday, the weather may stabilize somewhat, leading to brief periods of dry weather.

However, more rain showers are anticipated to sweep across the country on Wednesday and Thursday. Due to the unpredictability of weather patterns, it is challenging to determine the exact locations of these showers. Anyone planning a school graduation or student party on these days should prepare for the possibility of rain, as noted by meteorological experts.

Additionally, conditions may become windy, with brisk to occasionally strong gusts expected. Meteorologists emphasize that forecasting accuracy diminishes when looking several days ahead, making it advisable to check the weather forecast the day before the event and to monitor radar images for real-time updates.

Reflecting on May, the SMHI confirms that it was notably cooler than usual across much of Sweden. Many residents have remarked on the unusual chill after several warmer years in May, creating a stark contrast to recent memories of milder weather.
