Swiss offenders in court

Munich. On Monday in the District Court of Munich, a trial started for three Swiss teenagers accused of assaulting five people last June in Munich, injuring some of them seriously.

The first victims were in the Park drei Mazedonier. They attacked a 46 year old insurance salesman from Ratingen and a student from Bulgaria.

The indictment accuses them of actual bodily harm. According to the investigation, the three defendants had been drinking alcohol with classmates in a park and had smoked marijuana. . The students from the tenth year a of work-vocational college in Küsnacht on Lake Zurich were on a class trip. On the way home to their accommodation that day, they attacked five passers-by within half an hour.

Under German juvenile law they could face a maximum sentence of ten years of imprisonment.   However the maximum penalty in Switzerland for adolescents is four years.  Many people hope that the three teenagers will receive the full German sentence.
