Student Driver runs Red Light, Causes Accident

Laim - A 28-year-old student ran a red light early Monday morning and caused a three-car accident at the corner of Gotthard Strasse and Fürstenrieder Strasse.

The student was driving on Gotthard Strasse towards the outskirts of Munich, ran the light and entered the intersection with his Volkwagen Polo, and collided with a BMW headed north on Fürstenrieder and a small truck headed south.  Traffic was held up for one hour.

The student suffered a severe concussion and was taken to a nearby hospital.  The 32-year-old BMW driver suffered minor bruises.  In all, there was €15,000 worth of damage.
