Potential Billion-Euro Liability for the Republic in Grasser Case

Notably, Karl-Heinz Grasser, a key figure in the case, has declared personal bankruptcy.

In March, Grasser was sentenced to four years in prison related to the Buwog scandal and ordered to pay approximately ten million euros in damages, along with interest. This substantial amount poses a challenge for the state, which also faces claims in connection with the Buwog case from CA Immo.
