Sun 7th Dec, 2025

On Saturday evening, a serious traffic accident occurred in Graz, Austria, resulting in four individuals sustaining injuries, including an infant. According to reports from local authorities, a 36-year-old woman was driving her car near the intersection leading to the A2 motorway entrance at Raaba when her vehicle collided head-on with another car. In the second vehicle, a 26-year-old man from Graz was accompanied by his partner and their two-month-old son.

The impact of the collision was significant, causing substantial damage to both vehicles. Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, deploying 17 firefighters to assist with rescue operations and traffic management. The woman driving alone suffered severe injuries and was transported for inpatient treatment at a nearby hospital. The family of three, including the infant, sustained only minor injuries and, after receiving outpatient care, were able to return home the same evening.

During the emergency response, an additional incident took place en route to the original accident scene. Two police vehicles, both using flashing lights and sirens, collided with each other while responding to the call. As a result, two police officers received minor injuries. Both police vehicles incurred considerable damage and had to be towed from the location.

The sequence of accidents led to temporary disruptions in traffic flow and required coordinated efforts by emergency personnel. Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the precise causes of both incidents and to assess whether any factors such as road conditions, driver error, or mechanical issues contributed to the crashes.

This series of accidents highlights the risks faced not only by motorists but also by first responders during urgent operations. Local officials have reiterated the importance of vigilant driving, especially at intersections and in situations requiring rapid emergency response. They have also emphasized the necessity for all road users to remain alert and cautious to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Both vehicles involved in the initial head-on collision were deemed unfit for further use and required removal from the scene. Cleanup crews worked efficiently to clear the area and restore normal traffic conditions. While the investigation continues, authorities have urged any witnesses to come forward with information that may assist in reconstructing the events leading up to the accidents.

No fatalities were reported in either incident, and all injured parties are currently receiving appropriate medical attention. The prompt response by emergency teams helped minimize further risk and ensured that those affected received timely care. The local community has expressed relief that the injuries sustained were not life-threatening and that the infant involved is in stable condition.
