Father Testifies in Court About Children's Views on Abduction Case

Tue 23rd Sep, 2025

In an ongoing court case regarding the alleged abduction of two children, the father of the siblings has provided insights into their perspectives on the unfolding legal proceedings. The incident in question involves the children being taken from Denmark to Germany during the New Year's Eve of 2023/24.

The father, who is participating as a co-plaintiff, stated that both the son and daughter have been following the trial closely through various media sources. He expressed their confusion regarding the accused, Christina Block, who is alleged to have orchestrated their abduction. The father emphasized that the children are puzzled by Block's refusal to acknowledge the truth of the situation, questioning why she has not yet admitted her involvement.

On New Year's Eve, the children, then aged ten and thirteen, were reportedly taken by employees of an Israeli security firm and brought back to their mother, Christina Block, in Germany. Block, 52, is the daughter of Eugen Block, the founder of the well-known steakhouse chain "Block House." She faces serious allegations related to this abduction, which she has denied, alongside six other co-defendants.

During the twelfth day of the trial, it was revealed that the father had intended to initiate investigations in Israel concerning the abduction. He had reportedly arranged flights to Israel on September 19 with the goal of meeting with local law enforcement authorities. However, these plans did not materialize for unspecified reasons. The father's legal representative remarked that these were merely preliminary considerations.

Furthermore, prior to this testimony, two Israeli television channels had aired interviews with individuals believed to be involved in the children's abduction, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the event. One of the alleged abductors, a 36-year-old Israeli man, detailed the operation in court.

The situation has raised significant concerns, with the Hamburg public prosecutor's office actively searching for six other suspects believed to be residing in Israel. The complexities of this case continue to unfold as more details emerge from the ongoing hearings.
