Pantone's Color of the Year an Endless Neutral Loop

As the Vienna election draws near, the deadline for submitting written or online applications for voting cards is set to expire at midnight on Wednesday. Voters who still need to apply for a voting card can do so until noon on Friday by making an in-person request at the election office within the city administration.
The voting card allows residents to participate in absentee voting, whether from within Austria or abroad, or to cast their votes at polling places other than their designated ones.
Those who choose to collect their voting cards in person at the election office have the added option of marking their ballots and submitting them on the spot. However, for those opting for mail-in voting, completed ballots must be received by the election office by 5:00 PM on election day to be counted.
A significant change for this year's election is the counting of mail-in ballots. Unlike previous elections where all absentee votes were counted the day following the election, this year, nearly all ballots received by 5:00 PM on Friday will be included in the preliminary count at their respective polling stations. This new regulation aligns with recent updates to the voting process for European Union and national elections.
As a result, the preliminary results announced on election night are expected to reflect the final outcomes more accurately, and the results from individual polling stations will provide more meaningful data for analysis.
For more information regarding the application process for voting cards, voters are encouraged to stay informed as the election day approaches. Polling trends indicate that the Social Democratic Party (SPÖ) is polling below 40 percent, while the Freedom Party (FPÖ) is exceeding 21 percent. The competition for third place remains tight.
