Weltladen Waidhofen Celebrates Two Decades of Impact

The Weltladen in Waidhofen an der Ybbs is set to commemorate its 20th anniversary with a grand celebration on Friday, October 10. The event will take place at the Raiffeisenbank hall, marking two decades since the store first opened its doors on November 25, 2005, in a building adjacent to the Bürgerspitalkirche.

Initially launched by a dedicated group of founders, the Weltladen has since evolved to become a staple in the community, relocating to a more central location in 2009 to expand its reach and accessibility. The shop specializes in bio-fair products, promoting sustainable and ethical consumerism.

The anniversary festivities promise a vibrant evening filled with various activities. Attendees can look forward to live music performed by Magdalena Eichler & Co, engaging moderated discussions, a photographic retrospective showcasing the store's history, audience quizzes, and visionary talks about the future of the organization. Culinary delights will be provided by the local restaurant Kunterbunt, featuring a buffet accompanied by drinks available from the Weltladen's selection. The festivities will commence at 7 PM.
