Heightened tensions in the Strait of Hormuz have led to increased military activity and conflicting reports from both the United States and Iran regarding the safety of maritime traffic in the region. The United States has announced a new operation aimed at escorting civilian commercial vessels out of the strategic waterway, citing concerns for the safety of crews and cargo amid the ongoing conflict with Iran.
