Two Women Detained in Connection with Fatal Shooting Involving 12-Year-Old Suspect

Authorities have detained two women suspected of involvement in a fatal shooting in Oxie, a suburb of Malmö. The women, both in their twenties, were taken into custody on Thursday and are suspected of assisting in the murder of a 21-year-old man, as well as attempting to assist in three other attempted murders.

According to the prosecutor, evidence gathered thus far suggests significant grounds for suspicion against the two women, with further legal proceedings, including possible remand hearings, anticipated soon.

Earlier, a 12-year-old boy was placed in protective custody in connection with the same incident. The boy, suspected of murder and three counts of attempted murder, is believed by investigators to have been recruited by criminal elements for the shooting. The case has attracted widespread attention, as it is reportedly the first instance in Sweden where such a young individual has been implicated in a fatal gun crime.

Investigators believe the 12-year-old may have ties to the criminal network known as Foxtrot. Reports indicate that he has previously agreed to carry out violent acts for this group, although he did not follow through on earlier assignments. These failures reportedly led to threats against him, according to documents reviewed by the authorities.

The victim in the shooting, a 21-year-old man, was seated in the back of a grey Audi when the vehicle came under fire while in motion. The attack resulted in the man's death. It remains unclear who the intended target was, as another passenger in the vehicle is also known to have connections to organized crime in Malmö. The 21-year-old victim had recently been released from prison after serving a sentence for robbery.

Law enforcement continues to search for additional suspects, as the evidence suggests that more than one individual was involved in orchestrating the attack. The ongoing investigation is focused on understanding the roles of those detained and uncovering further links to organized criminal groups operating in the region.

This incident highlights growing concerns in Sweden about the recruitment of minors by criminal networks. Authorities have stated that efforts are underway to address this issue and prevent further exploitation of children in violent criminal activities.

The case remains under investigation, with law enforcement urging anyone with relevant information to come forward. Updates will be provided as new details emerge.
