Teenager Sentenced to Twelve Years for Shooting Incident

A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to twelve years in prison by the Solna District Court for shooting multiple rounds through the door of an apartment building in Sundbyberg, injuring a woman inside. The court found the young man guilty of attempted murder, serious weapons offenses, and drug-related crimes committed on November 9 and 10 of the previous year, determining that he had the intent to kill during the shooting.

At the time of the incident, the defendant was 18 years old, but the court decided that his relatively young age would not warrant a reduction in sentencing. The total sentence was assessed at twelve years, and the court noted the absence of any mitigating circumstances.

The incident occurred around 9 PM on November 9, when someone rang the doorbell of the family's apartment. The mother reported feeling uneasy and tried to see who was at the door through the peephole. She later described the individual as a young man holding flowers. Her husband and their three-year-old daughter joined her at the door just before several shots were fired, with at least one bullet penetrating the door and striking the woman in the abdomen.

The woman recounted her shock, stating she was unable to comprehend what had just happened. Following the shooting, a significant police operation was launched, resulting in the apprehension of the now-sentenced 19-year-old, who was found riding a scooter shortly thereafter. Investigators later discovered that he had discarded several items while fleeing the scene, including a pistol with a magazine, a bouquet of flowers, and a broken mobile phone.

Despite the extensive investigation, police were unable to determine a motive for the shooting. The woman's husband expressed confusion as to why their apartment had been targeted. The court's ruling did not clarify the reasons behind the shooting either.

The young man has admitted to the charges but denies having intended to kill anyone.
