Swiss Air Plans to Reduce Administrative Workforce by Ten Percent Amid Cost Pressures

The Swiss airline Swiss, a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group, has announced plans to implement significant cost-saving measures by reducing its administrative workforce by approximately ten percent. Swiss does not intend to pursue involuntary layoffs, instead opting for a voluntary departure program. The voluntary departure program for cabin crew, which was previously introduced at the airline's Zurich base, resulted in approximately 140 employees choosing to leave the company. This program offered a one-time financial incentive to those who resigned by a specific deadline and successfully reduced surplus personnel without resorting to forced layoffs.

Swiss has confirmed that it will continue to monitor its staffing requirements and adjust its workforce as necessary in response to market conditions.
