Michael Ausserer Steps Down as Managing Director of NÖ Pressehaus

Wed 2nd Apr, 2025

Michael Ausserer has announced his resignation as the Managing Director of the Niederösterreichisches Pressehaus, effective April 2025. In a statement to a leading media outlet, Ausserer reflected on his tenure, indicating that he feels accomplished after four and a half years in the role. He expressed his intent to pursue new opportunities while remaining available to provide advisory support to the company.

Under his leadership, the NÖ Pressehaus has tackled various challenges, including a recent decision to reduce its share capital from one million euros to 35,000 euros. This move was made to address a significant balance sheet loss, a measure Ausserer attributes to the current economic climate, which he described as challenging.

Despite the financial difficulties, Ausserer pointed out that the organization has successfully implemented several cost-saving measures in recent months, allowing them to maintain a forward-looking outlook. The NÖ Pressehaus is owned by the Diocese of St. Pölten, the Press Association of the Diocese, and Raiffeisen Holding NÖ-Wien. Its notable publications include the 'Niederösterreichischen Nachrichten' and the 'Burgenländische Volkszeitung'.

The identity of Ausserer's successor has yet to be disclosed, leaving the organization and its stakeholders in anticipation of the next chapter for the NÖ Pressehaus.
