Jägerschaft's Blind Marker Initiative Among Finalists for Habitat Award

The Lower Austrian Hunting Association is currently conducting its annual selection process for the 2025 Habitat Award. The competition highlights innovative projects that contribute positively to the preservation and enhancement of local ecosystems and wildlife habitats.

This year, six outstanding projects have reached the final round. Among the finalists is the Jägerschaft's Blind Marker initiative, recognized for its efforts to improve the environment for both wildlife and the visually impaired. The project focuses on developing and installing specialized markers designed to assist individuals with visual impairments in safely navigating natural areas, simultaneously promoting greater accessibility and awareness within the landscape.

The public is invited to participate in the voting process, which is open until 16 November. Through this platform, users are encouraged to evaluate the initiatives and assign ratings ranging from one to five stars. After the voting period concludes, the three projects with the highest public ratings will be formally recognized in early December. The top-ranked initiative will receive a monetary award of EUR2,000, while the second and third place projects will be awarded EUR1,500 and EUR1,000 respectively. These funds are intended to support the continued development and implementation of the winning projects, furthering their positive impact on the region's natural habitats.
