Authorities reported that the individual, accompanied by three passengers, was traveling late at night when police signaled for him to pull over near the Wasserturm area. Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated rapidly, prompting an immediate pursuit by the responding officers. According to police accounts, the suspect reached speeds of up to 200 kilometers per hour during the chase, significantly endangering public safety and those in the vehicle.

During the course of the pursuit, the driver engaged in several hazardous maneuvers, including turning off the vehicle's headlights in an attempt to evade detection.
