HAK Students from Waidhofen/Thaya Experience Language Journey in London

A group of 37 students from the 3AK and 3DK classes of the Handelsakademie recently participated in an enriching language trip to London, accompanied by their teachers, Claudia Diesner-Peternell and Stefan Rohrböck. This educational journey aimed to enhance their language skills and immerse them in English culture.

During the mornings, the students engaged in language lessons at the Mycenae House, where they focused on improving their English proficiency. These sessions were designed to complement the practical experiences they would encounter throughout the week.

Afternoons were filled with a variety of sightseeing activities, allowing the students to explore some of London's most iconic landmarks. The itinerary included visits to Buckingham Palace, where they learned about the royal family's history, and a stroll down The Mall, a ceremonial route leading to the palace.

Students continued their exploration at Trafalgar Square, a bustling hub known for its vibrant atmosphere and historical significance. They then made their way to Whitehall, where they observed the political heart of the UK, and concluded their day at Westminster Abbey, a site of great cultural and architectural importance.

Many students returned to Westminster Abbey on Sunday morning, eager to delve deeper into its rich history and significance. The visit provided an opportunity for students to connect with the cultural heritage of the city, further enhancing their understanding of English traditions.

This immersion in both the language and culture of England has proven to be an invaluable experience for the participants. By engaging with native speakers and navigating various cultural settings, the students have not only improved their language skills but have also gained insights into the social and historical context of London.
