FPÖ Calls for Immediate Legislation Against Political Islam

In a recent statement, the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) has reiterated its demand for a legislative ban on political Islam, emphasizing that immediate action is necessary to protect national security and cultural identity. The party argues that political Islam should not be classified as a religion but rather as a significant threat to the populace.

According to FPÖ officials, the introduction of an action plan targeting radical Islam in Lower Austria represents a critical step in fulfilling campaign promises. They have pointed out that their calls for stringent measures against political Islam have historically been dismissed by other political parties, particularly the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP).

FPÖ spokesperson Michael Schnedlitz stated that the radical political Islam poses a breeding ground for terrorism, referencing recent violent incidents that have affected communities, such as the attack in Villach. He criticized the federal government for its inaction, accusing it of ignoring the growing challenges posed by illegal immigration and the risks associated with radical ideologies.

Schnedlitz called for a 'zero-tolerance policy' towards parallel societies that undermine Austrian values, asserting that radical Islamist organizations, mosques, and associations that foster extremist ideologies must be dismantled. He underscored that the safety of citizens must not be compromised by such groups.
