In a significant crackdown on street crime in Vienna, law enforcement officials have apprehended five individuals believed to be members of a criminal organization involved in large-scale drug trafficking. During the operation, authorities discovered approximately 700 grams of cocaine, around nine kilograms of cannabis resin and herb, 17,000 euros in cash, and three counterfeit identification documents in two locations used as drug storage units.

The initial arrests occurred on Wednesday in the Favoriten district, where three men aged 25, 26, and 36, all of whom are Serbian nationals, were taken into custody. The following day, two additional suspects were arrested in the Margareten area: a 21-year-old Turkish national and a 25-year-old Austrian citizen. These five individuals are now facing charges related to drug trafficking and involvement in a criminal association.

In accordance with directives from the Vienna Public Prosecutor's Office, the suspects have been transferred to a correctional facility. The 36-year-old suspect is also facing additional charges for suspected forgery of documents.
