Elderly Woman Rescued After Overnight Ordeal on Mount Katrin

An 87-year-old woman was rescued after spending a night stranded on Mount Katrin near Bad Ischl, Austria, following an unexpected sequence of events just before Christmas. The incident unfolded when the woman, a former mountain guide and avid photographer, ascended the 1,400-meter peak via cable car to capture photographs. Due to dense fog over the valley, she missed the final descent and was left without a means to return to the base.

Medical checks confirmed that she had survived the ordeal without lasting harm.
