Community Mourns the Loss of Former Council Member Rudolf Hagmann

The community of Thaya is in mourning following the passing of Rudolf Hagmann, a dedicated former council member of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) and an active participant in various local organizations, who died at the age of 76. The flags at the municipal office are flying at half-mast in his honor.

Hagmann served as a council member from 1990 to 2004 and later took on the role of managing council member from 2005 to 2006. His commitment to the community extended beyond his political duties, as he was a prominent figure in numerous local associations.

In a statement reflecting on Hagmann's contributions, the current mayor highlighted his unwavering support and reliability. "Rudolf was a stalwart presence in every organization in Thaya. Community members could always count on him whenever help was needed," the mayor noted.

In addition to his political involvement, Hagmann was also deeply engaged in church activities, where he served as a sacristan for several decades, further exemplifying his dedication to the community.

A vigil is scheduled for Friday, May 16, at 1:30 PM at the parish church in Thaya, where friends and family will gather to pay their respects. Following the vigil, a requiem mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM, allowing the community to come together in memory of Hagmann's life and contributions.
