Wed 19th Mar, 2025

RIEGL, a global leader in high-performance laser scanning technology, is making significant advancements in infrastructure development at its headquarters in Horn, Austria. This initiative is a strategic response to the increasing demand for LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) measurement devices, essential in the digital age.

The company's laser scanners are renowned for their precision and capability to provide detailed digital 3D spatial and image data. These tools are integral not only to traditional surveying but also to cutting-edge applications such as carbon mapping, autonomous driving, and urban and infrastructure planning.

Over the years, RIEGL has consistently invested in its Horn location. In 2022, the company inaugurated a new facility on Riedenburgstraße, encompassing 2,500 square meters dedicated to development and manufacturing. The expansion continued in 2024 with the acquisition of an additional 1,400 square meter building on Prager Straße, which is currently being renovated to enhance production capacity and provide extra storage.

Earlier this year, RIEGL completed the construction of a new hangar at Krems Airport. This facility will house RIEGL's survey aircraft, which are essential for testing and calibrating the airborne laser scanners produced in Horn. Such rigorous quality control processes uphold the high standards associated with RIEGL products, ensuring customer satisfaction and job security for its workforce.

To better cater to the global market, RIEGL has expanded its international sales network, which already includes locations in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom. In early 2024, the company established RIEGL Deutschland Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH in Oberpfaffenhofen, near Munich. Additionally, RIEGL South America, based in Santiago, Chile, has been launched to enhance focus on the South American market. Recently, a new branch, RIEGL France SAS, was opened in Marseille, further extending the company's reach.

In 2024, the RIEGL group reported revenues exceeding 100 million EUR, supported by a workforce of over 320 employees. As the company continues to grow and diversify its business operations, it remains on the lookout for dedicated and motivated individuals to join its innovative, forward-thinking team rooted in the Waldviertel region.
