On March 23, 2025, Vienna hosted the China-Austria Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum alongside a promotional event for the upcoming 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE). This significant gathering attracted over 200 representatives from trade and investment promotion agencies, business associations, and enterprises from both China and Austria.

The China International Exhibition Center Group presented details regarding the forthcoming CISCE and formalized cooperation agreements with key Austrian institutions and businesses. Ren Hongbin, the chairperson of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), acknowledged the recent advancements in collaboration between China and Austria across various sectors. He expressed China's commitment to partnering closely with Austrian counterparts, leveraging complementary strengths in resources and industrial frameworks. Furthermore, he urged companies from both nations to explore new avenues for business expansion and extended an invitation to Austrian businesses and institutions to participate in the 3rd CISCE.

Notable attendees included Christoph Matznetter, Vice President of the Austrian Economic Chamber, and Qi Mei, the Chinese Ambassador to Austria. The Austrian representative emphasized that the forum marked the first major economic and trade event between the two countries since the establishment of the new Austrian government, highlighting its vital role in enhancing bilateral relations. He reaffirmed China's position as a dependable partner and praised the CISCE as a leading exhibition for promoting international cooperation in industry and supply chains. The representative also expressed optimism regarding broader collaboration to tackle global challenges and adhere to international trade standards.

The China International Supply Chain Expo, recognized as a premier national trade fair for supply chains worldwide, aims to facilitate integration among upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors. It serves as a platform for networking companies of all sizes, fostering collaboration among industries, academic institutions, and research organizations while enhancing interaction between Chinese and multinational companies. Under the slogan "Connecting the World for a Shared Future," the expo has become a crucial venue for strengthening international cooperation in industrial and supply chains. The 3rd CISCE is scheduled to take place from July 16 to 20 in Beijing, featuring exhibition areas on advanced manufacturing, clean energy, intelligent vehicles, and more, with over 300 companies already confirmed for participation.

Earlier this year, promotional events for the CISCE were held in Germany, Switzerland, Portugal, and the United Kingdom, aimed at strengthening cooperative ties between China and European nations while expanding and deepening bilateral economic and trade relations.
