It enables the driver and passengers to pass time while waiting for the car to charge, for example, by playing so-called casual games while the vehicle is still moving. The AirConsole app will progressively be made available in other BMW vehicles* in addition to the new BMW 5 Series. A special BMW i5 with a distinctive gaming appearance created by BMW Group Design is being unveiled exclusively for the launch of the new BMW 5 Series. The BMW 5 Series saloon is turned into the ultimate gaming station thanks to this livery in both a technical and aesthetic sense.

With a smartphone as the controller it is simple to use.
Players only need their smartphones, which serve as controllers, and the BMW Curved Display for the in-car gaming experience. By scanning a QR code on the Curved Display after starting the AirConsole app in the car, the connection between the smartphone and the car is made automatically. Players can then immediately begin playing. The AirConsole app supports multiple players at once. During stops, the backseat passengers can also enjoy themselves playing in-car games. In general, you can play by yourself, with other people in your car, or in competition mode.

Players can engage in so-called casual gaming with AirConsole. These are simple to pick up and play, as well as intuitive to control, games. In addition to simulation, strategy, jump-and-run, and puzzle games, the new BMW 5 Series saloon is being introduced to the market with a selection of racing, sports, quiz, and music quiz games. "Go Kart Go," "Golazo," "Music Guess," and "Overcooked" are among the roughly 15 games that are immediately playable. Games will be added to the selection on a regular basis.

A BMW i5 with a distinctive gaming aesthetic
The BMW Group is presenting a BMW i5 with a distinctive gaming wrap to commemorate the introduction of in-car gaming. Embracing the gaming experience to the very last pixel is symbolized by its design. Large pixels that pay homage to the now recognizable 8-bit computer game era are easily identifiable. The various games that are playable on the AirConsole platform serve as inspiration for the color scheme. Elements from video game controllers wrap around the i5, picking up on the innovative AirConsole solution for in-car gaming, which turns a smartphone into a controller and puts all the game's options at the players' fingertips.
