The over 100-year-old waterworks in Wilhelmsburg was decommissioned in 2008 and converted into a spectacular location as part of the International Garden Show 2013. The machine hall is a gem of industrial architecture. Built in 1911, the white plastered cube structure with its high mullioned windows and hipped roof is ideally integrated into the Inselpark. The campus is completed by the red-brick, smaller atomisation building.
