Wanderheim Eschelhof is one of the most beautiful, volunteer-managed hiking lodges of the Schwäbischer Albverein. It is characterized by pure nature with plenty of peace and relaxation. The lodge offers fun and activities for all ages: 2 children's playgrounds, football, table tennis, table football, barefoot path, grill, campfire, and much more. During the summer and winter, the restaurant operates with a kiosk serving steaks, sausages, cakes, cider, and wine, as well as coffee, beer, and other beverages. In winter, the restaurant serves schnitzel with potato salad, salad plates, Maultaschen, farmer's sausage, snacks, coffee, cakes, and drinks. The lodge is closed in December and January. Hikers and cyclists often meet above Sulzbach/Murr in the midst of the Swabian Forest to recharge, relax, and unwind away from the usual hustle and bustle. A bike repair station is available, and bikes can be charged for free. Opening hours are Saturday, Sunday, and holidays from 11 AM to 5 PM, closed after 6 PM. The lodge has 38 overnight accommodations and various rooms.
