About Schloss Dachau Restaurant Cafe

Welcome to Schloss Dachau Cafe Restaurant with breathtaking views. Schloss Dachau dates back to an early medieval castle of the Counts of Dachau. From 1546 to 1577, it was expanded into a powerful four-wing complex under Duke Wilhelm IV and his son Duke Albrecht V by the Munich court architects Heinrich Schöttl and Wilhelm Egkl. The magnificent Renaissance wooden ceiling in the banquet hall, considered one of the most significant in Southern Germany, originates from this time. In the early 19th century, three-quarters of the castle complex were demolished; however, the baroque banquet hall tract, which was built under Elector Max Emanuel from 1715 to 1717, remains intact.
