About Offen Bar

In the 1980s, our Offen Bar was known as 'Shizzo' and was one of the first punk bars in Berlin, frequented by many celebrities. Some of the regulars included Iggy Pop and David Bowie, who lived nearby. Hagen Liebling (from the band Die Ärzte) and August Bebel (co-founder of the SPD) also spent many evenings here. Theodor Heuss, who enjoyed the area, visited years before the Shizzo era. In 1986, the cultural pub transformed into a more upscale bar called 'Drops' with white tablecloths and candle holders. Since 1995, it has been the current Offen Bar, located in the peaceful Friedenau, offering a cozy atmosphere where one can unwind with a refreshing cocktail by the fireplace.
