About Lindauer Marionettenoper

The Lindauer Marionettenoper was founded in 2000 by Bernhard Leismüller and features a unique philosophy where puppeteers aim to make the audience forget that they are watching marionettes. The movements of the puppets are intricately choreographed to the music, creating a captivating experience. The venue has a rich history, having built around 500 marionettes and attracting over 200,000 visitors. The ensemble consists of 14 puppeteers and more than 20 staff members. The performances are held in a fixed stage at the Stadttheater Lindau and also feature a mobile stage for guest performances. The venue has seen a steady increase in attendance, with a current occupancy rate of 96%.
