The Kneipenbühne in Oberweiling has been operating since its founding in the autumn of 1981 under the leadership of Hanne and Golly Hertlein. It has hosted over a thousand events and is affectionately known as 'O'wei' by friends. The internationally renowned cultural center has welcomed artists from the USA, Canada, Latin America, many European countries, as well as Africa, Australia, and Asia (Mongolia). Local musicians and cabaret artists often use the classroom in the old schoolhouse as a springboard for their careers.
