About Bierwirtschaft Lochmühle

The Lochmühle is one of the oldest mills in Ulm, first documented in 1346. The historic building was transformed into the restaurant 'Zur Lochmühle' in 1977. The large waterwheel is installed in its original place and serves as a recognizable landmark of the restaurant located by the Blau River. Since 1987, the Schubert family has operated this cozy old town establishment with a popular beer garden. In January 2024, Wilhelm Schubert Jr. took over the restaurant, continuing the family tradition. The menu features a wide range of Swabian specialties, such as Sauerbraten, Kässpätzle, Maultaschen, and vegetarian and international dishes. Sustainability is important, with 100% hydropower, Fairtrade coffee, and partnerships with local producers.
