The Burgwallbacher See is a small bathing lake located just outside of Burgwallbach, a district of the municipality of Schönau an der Brend. The idyllic lake is very popular among bathers from the surrounding area during the summer months and offers a spacious sunbathing area. The lake is up to 6 meters deep and has a total size of about 230 by 66 meters. Although the lake is situated at the edge of the forest, it enjoys a sunny location in summer, and the water is pleasantly warmed. A stream continuously supplies the Burgwallbacher See with fresh spring water from the adjacent forest area. The recreational facility at the Burgwallbacher See includes a building with showers, changing facilities, and restrooms. A visit to the lake is always worthwhile to soak up some sun and refresh oneself in the cool waters of this small but fine bathing lake. During the summer months, the Burgwallbacher See is one of the most popular bathing lakes in the Rhön. Idyllically located at the Burgwallbacher Badesee is the Seecafé Valentina.
