After a two-year break due to the pandemic, around 200 exhibitors will present their products and services related to bicycles on Saturday and Sunday (from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in each case). On two stages there will be discussions around mobility of the future and sustainability, but also lighter entertainment shows, record attempts and live interviews. For example, the "German Forrest Gump" Jonas Deichmann, who has circumnavigated the globe running, cycling and swimming, is expected to attend.
Velo Berlin sees itself as a festival where the organizers want to bring together companies, the trade public and people interested in bicycles. Most exhibitors present themselves in the airport building. Access here is via Hangar 5 (Tempelhofer Damm, 12101 Berlin) or via Tempelhofer Feld. On the open space at the hangar there are racing and test tracks for bikes.
The Tagesspiegel presents the VELOKids segment at VELOBerlin, where children can not only try out lightweight special bikes like BMX, but also find other good opportunities for exercise: At the wheel race, the bungee trampoline and some more. Children can also practice riding safety and dexterity here.
Tickets are only available on Friday (April 8) in the online presale for 9 euros. On Saturday and Sunday (April 9 and 10) 12 euros each. The ticket for both festival days costs 12 euros in advance, 15 euros on the weekend. Children and young people up to 14 years of age - accompanied by an adult - receive free admission.
As far as the vexed Corona issue is concerned, there are no longer any access restrictions or requirements in accordance with the current Infection Protection Ordinance. However, out of concern for fellow human beings, the organizers recommend taking a self-test beforehand and "most urgently" wearing an FFP2 protective mask.
