24-Year-Old from Luleå Suspected in Järfälla Double Homicide, Maintains Innocence

A 24-year-old man from Luleå stands accused of a double homicide that took place in Kallhäll, Järfälla, as well as two attempted murders in Huddinge, all occurring within a span of a few days last August. The suspect, who claims he was on vacation in Stockholm at the time, has denied any involvement in the crimes throughout police interviews.

Authorities allege that the man traveled from Luleå to Stockholm by train just prior to the incidents. According to police investigations, the double homicide occurred during the night of August 25, when two men in their mid-twenties were fatally shot while sitting in a car parked in Kallhäll. Both victims were struck multiple times in the head and were found deceased by police upon arrival. Witnesses reported that after the shooting, the perpetrator approached the vehicle and took photographs of the victims with a mobile phone. Shortly afterward, images believed to be from the crime scene began circulating on social media platforms.

After the Kallhäll shootings, the suspect reportedly evaded police detection for several days. However, on August 28, authorities responded to another violent incident in Huddinge, alerted by residents reporting gunshots and screams from an apartment building. Officers arriving at the scene found the 24-year-old suspect injured and bleeding outside the building. Inside, a man was discovered with a gunshot wound to his hand, sustained while attempting to shield his head, and a woman who was also reportedly targeted but not hit. The suspect was apprehended and later convicted in March for the attempted murders in Huddinge, receiving a 12-year prison sentence.

At the time of the Huddinge arrest, investigators had not yet linked the suspect to the earlier double homicide in Järfälla. As the investigation progressed, police used a combination of digital evidence, physical traces, and surveillance footage to trace the suspect's movements in the days leading up to both incidents. This evidence, which included DNA, fingerprints, and location data, was instrumental in connecting the individual to the Kallhäll shootings. In October, forensic teams discovered a pistol hidden in wooded area near a local primary school in Järfälla, which was later identified as the murder weapon through forensic analysis and photographic evidence from an apartment associated with the suspect.

Investigators have posited that the double homicide in Kallhäll may have been a contract killing motivated by financial gain, as there appears to be no personal connection between the accused and the victims. The case file also mentions a potential revenge motive, indicating that the killings could have been ordered by a third party, possibly a rapper, following the earlier involvement of one of the victims in a separate murder case concerning the rapper's younger brother.

Several other individuals were initially suspected of involvement in the Järfälla double homicide. One person was investigated on suspicion of having assisted the alleged shooter by booking a taxi to the crime scene, but all secondary suspects were eventually cleared or not charged due to insufficient evidence.

The prosecution has brought forward a substantial body of technical evidence for the upcoming trial, including DNA samples, digital tracking records, fingerprint analysis, and video surveillance. Police assert that this evidence establishes the suspect's presence at both crime scenes and links him directly to the firearm used. Despite the weight of the evidence, the accused has consistently denied all charges relating to the double homicide, refraining from answering questions during police interrogations.
