The annual Krampus parade once again drew a significant number of visitors to Neulengbach, as the city hosted a traditional event that has become a popular attraction in the region. Approximately 30 participants from the Laabental Pass Krampus group, based in Innermanzing, took part in this year's festivities, bringing a distinct blend of folklore and spectacle to the town center.

The event unfolded directly in front of the local church, where organizers arranged secure barriers to ensure the safety of both participants and spectators. This setup allowed attendees to observe the Krampus performers up close as they enacted their roles. The atmosphere was enhanced by dramatic red lighting, which accentuated the eerie appearance of the costumed figures and their performances, including the iconic rattling of chains.

The Krampus tradition, rooted in Alpine folklore, involves participants donning elaborate costumes and masks to represent the mythical creature said to accompany Saint Nicholas. While Saint Nicholas rewards well-behaved children, Krampus is known for frightening those who have misbehaved, creating an engaging contrast that is central to the event's appeal.

In Neulengbach, the Krampus parade has become an integral part of the winter calendar, drawing visitors from across the region who are eager to experience the lively and visually striking procession. The event is organized in cooperation with the city administration, which works to ensure that the festivities are both safe and accessible for all ages. Security measures, such as the use of fencing and crowd control, are put in place to allow large numbers of spectators to enjoy the performance while maintaining a secure environment.

The Laabental Pass group, known for their commitment to preserving local customs, played a central role in this year's parade. Their elaborate costumes, featuring fur, horns, and hand-carved masks, were a highlight for many attendees. Both children and adults watched as the Krampus figures moved through the designated performance area, creating a memorable experience marked by excitement and tradition.

Officials from the city noted the strong turnout and positive atmosphere, emphasizing the importance of maintaining such cultural events. The Krampus parade not only celebrates local heritage but also fosters community engagement and tourism, contributing to Neulengbach's reputation as a destination for winter festivities.

As the event continues to grow in popularity, organizers anticipate that the Krampus parade will remain a fixture in Neulengbach's holiday season, offering residents and guests an opportunity to connect with regional traditions and folklore in a festive setting.
