In a heartbreaking incident in France, a two-year-old boy tragically lost his life after being left in an overheated vehicle. According to the Aix-en-Provence public prosecutor's office, the child's father forgot to drop him off at kindergarten on Thursday morning.

The father had parked the car at his workplace, a military airbase located in Istres, in southern France. The situation unfolded when the child's mother called him in the afternoon, inquiring about their son's absence from kindergarten, which prompted the father to realize his grave mistake.

Upon rushing to the vehicle, he discovered his son unresponsive inside. Despite immediate attempts at resuscitation by emergency personnel, the efforts were futile, and the boy was pronounced dead due to dehydration, as confirmed by subsequent autopsy results.

Authorities reported that the temperatures in the region soared to 36 degrees Celsius in the shade on that day, exacerbating the risk of heat-related incidents. Following this tragic event, the father was taken into custody on charges of involuntary manslaughter.

This incident underscores the critical dangers of leaving children unattended in vehicles, particularly during extreme weather conditions. It serves as a poignant reminder for parents and guardians to remain vigilant and ensure the safety of young children.
