December is almost upon us and instead of snow, we're currently experiencing intense bouts of fog in Munich. But we're not letting that dampen our spirits or cloud our vision (ho ho); there's a bunch of exciting events going on in Munich this week. Monday we recommend you check out Bombay Bicycle Club at the Freiheizhalle. The London band released their third studio album in August and are currently on tour in Europe to promote it.

German chanteuse Annett Louisan is at the Kleine Olympiahalle on Monday, if catchy pop tunes are more your style.

The Residenz theatre is showing Kasimir and Karoline on Monday - a play set in Munich following the 1929 Wall Street Crash and follows building tension between two young lovers. The Horvath play has been adapted by Berlin director Frank Castorf for the first time - and the play is showing at the Residenz for one night only.

Soul singer Aloe Blacc was 2010's hot new star and he's at Backstage Werk on Tuesday. Valentin im Sturm is at the Theater im Fraunhofer on 22nd too, but the show is completely sold-out apart from a few tickets left on the door. Be the early bird to catch the worm. Perhaps Tuesday's best event is the Poetry Slam in Cord - back for the second time. Tickets only 5 Euros and you'll have the chance to catch some of Germany's best young lyricists.

On Wednesday, one of the hottest men on the planet graces us with his presence in our Bavarian capital. Yes ladies, Lenny Kravitz is in town, playing at the Olympiahalle from 8pm onwards. He may be forty-seven, but he's still got it. Tickets available from 38,50 Euros at MünchenTicket. Hey, it's cheaper than George Michael's show last week and he's a whole lot more attractive.

If you're not dribbling at the thought of Lenny Kravitz's show, how about some Swedish heavy metal? In Flames are at the Zenith on 23rd. And the marvellous Patrick Wolf is at the Freiheizhalle too - on Wednesday you really do have a plethora of concerts to choose from. The singer-songwriter released Lupercalia in April of this year, which was nothing short of amazing. Definitely one to catch live.

Wednesday also marks the start of the filmPOLSKA festival, which showcases the works of young Polish directors.

Then we have Joan Wasser in Hansa39 on Wednesday, a veritable music genius. The artist has worked with the likes of Lou Reed, Antony and the Johnsons and Rufus Wainwright - this week she's in Munich with her main project Joan as Police Woman. If you're still at a loss on Wednesday (really?!), Munich's answer to Joanna Newsom is playing at Import/Export - MarieMarie and her harp are there from 9pm onwards.

Thursday's a little quieter - after all, we need a break after Wednesday's superb gigs to enjoy a good Thanksgiving dinner. On Friday Latin-American duo Rodrigo y Gabriela flamenco their way to Backstage. Their fusion of salsa, jazz and metal will warm your soul on Friday. If you enjoyed In Flames on Wednesday, you'll probably be heading down to the Kesselhaus on Friday to see Machine Head and Bring Me The Horizon thrash it out.

The weekend starts with an Ohio rock band : Hawthorne Heights are at 59:1. Motörhead play the Zenith from 8pm onwards. Need a party to head to afterwards?

: The finale party of the filmPOLSKA festival at Import/Export.

: The on3 festival featuring Neon Indian, Ebow and Casper.

: Clap Your Hands at Harry Klein featuring Dapayk.

Sunday rounds up your week of metal with Opeth at the Theaterfabrik. Happy Thanksgiving, if you're celebrating - enjoy your turkey and apple pie!
