In Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, and Saarland, violent thunderstorms resulted in numerous injuries, some of which were serious. Asweiler, a small town in the municipality of Freisen, sustained damage to about 50 homes as a result of the storm's destructive power. Many buildings' roofs were damaged, and in two cases, entire roofs--including the roof structure--were blown away.

In Asweiler, Saarland, no injuries were reported. In contrast, in Bavaria, two women, aged 25 and 33, were trying to secure a circus tent when it was destroyed by a gust of wind in Biessenhofen, close to Marktoberdorf. The women were taken to hospital with critical wounds. A 60-year-old was seriously hurt when an uprooted tree near Olching slammed into a caravan. Additionally, Baden-Württemberg saw a number of injuries. A family camper and a 30-year-old person were taken to the hospital after a 70 cm thick oak tree fell on their vehicle at an Allensbach, Lake Constance, campsite.

There were more than 200 operations in Munich where the emergency services were called. The rescuers were also frequently sent to Ingolstadt and the neighborhood of Rosenheim. Branches torn from trees and uprooted trees were the main emergencies there.

In Augsburg, scaffolding fell down.However, there was also a widespread lack of electricity in the Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm neighborhood.

During the storm, experts advised keeping windows and doors closed, securing outdoor items, and avoiding scaffolding, high-voltage lines, buildings, and trees. People were advised to spend as little time outside as possible.

In Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg it was the hottest day so far in Germany on Tuesday before the storms. The peak temperature was measured at 37.2 degrees Celsius in Möhrendorf-Kleinseebach (in the central Franconian district of Erlangen-Höchstadt), according to meteorologist Ursula Papassimeon of the German Weather Service (DWD). Kitzingen in Lower Franconia, Lahr/Black Forest, and Notzingen (both in Baden-Württemberg), according to the DWD, all had thermometer readings of 37 degrees Celsius.
