Heavy rainfall has led to significant flooding in the Amstetten district, prompting emergency responses from local fire departments. Among the affected areas are Windhag (Waidhofen/Ybbs), St. Valentin, Aschbach, Haag, and Euratsfeld. Firefighters have been engaged in a variety of operations including pumping out basements, clearing blockages in waterways, and establishing and monitoring road closures and retention basins to mitigate the impact of the flooding.

In Haag, two tunnel passages were closed to traffic as safety measures. The city's fire department has been active since midnight, focusing on assisting residents by removing water from flooded basements in residential homes. Additionally, the B122 road between Aschbach and Krenstetten was closed due to rising water levels. Fire departments in Euratsfeld have also set up barriers to manage the flooding situation.

District Fire Commander Rudolf Katzengruber expressed gratitude to all emergency personnel for their prompt and dedicated response to the crisis. Their efforts are crucial in ensuring public safety during this challenging weather event.

As the rainfall continues, monitoring efforts are ongoing to assess the situation and provide necessary assistance to affected areas. Local authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and follow safety protocols while the firefighting teams work tirelessly to address the situation.
