An incident occurred on Monday at approximately 8:25 AM at the Grieskirchen-Gallspach train station, where a 23-year-old train conductor was assaulted by an unidentified assailant. The attacker allegedly grabbed the conductor by the neck, applied pressure, and struck him with a headbutt before fleeing the scene.
The incident began when the assailant boarded the train at Linz's main station. During a routine ticket check, the conductor discovered that the passenger did not possess a valid ticket. The assailant initially resolved the fare issue by paying with a debit card, but tensions escalated shortly after.
As the train made a stop in Grieskirchen-Gallspach, the suspect suddenly attacked the conductor before making his escape in an unknown direction. Emergency services were called to the scene, and the injured conductor was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities have launched a manhunt for the assailant, who is described as having black hair, a dark complexion, and wearing a brown jacket. Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Grieskirchen police station at the provided telephone number.
