ORF Launches Epic Production 'Hunyadi'

ORF is set to unveil its ambitious television drama series titled 'Hunyadi - Rise to Power', which delves into the life of the renowned Hungarian military leader János Hunyadi. This historical narrative, consisting of ten episodes, will premiere on Easter Monday at 8:15 PM on ORF 1, with a special documentary entitled 'The Allure of the Middle Ages' airing shortly after at 10:05 PM.

Set in the 15th century, the series chronicles the heroic exploits of Hunyadi, who, against overwhelming odds, successfully thwarted the advances of the Ottoman Empire. His pivotal victory in 1456, which prevented the Ottoman siege of Belgrade, played a crucial role in safeguarding Western Europe from invasion.
