Mistelbach Auto Dealership Bankruptcy: Auction of Assets Underway

Tue 1st Apr, 2025

The bankruptcy proceedings of the Ig. Karl & Sohn GmbH auto dealership in Mistelbach have moved into a new phase, as the process of liquidating its assets has officially commenced. As of March 12, a total of 79 creditors have filed claims totaling approximately EUR2 million with the bankruptcy court and the appointed trustee, Herbert Nigl.

During the initial examination session of the bankruptcy procedure, it was confirmed that around EUR1.4 million of these claims have been recognized. The remaining claims are currently disputed, although there is potential for creditors to submit additional documentation that may support their claims.

Peter Stromberger from the Kreditschutzverband KSV of 1870 has noted that the process is ongoing and that the submission of missing documents could influence the final decisions regarding the acknowledged claims. The liquidation of the dealership's assets is aimed at satisfying the creditors to the extent possible.

As the situation unfolds, stakeholders are closely monitoring the asset liquidation process, which will determine how much of the owed amounts can be repaid to the creditors. The outcome of the liquidation will have significant implications for both the creditors and the local economy, given the dealership's role in the community.
