Integration of Digital Media in Austrian Schools: Teachers Seek Additional Support

The study highlights that while many teachers have access to digital tools, only half of them incorporate these media into less than 20% of their classroom time. Conversely, approximately 25% of educators utilize digital resources in over 40% of their teaching periods. This disparity suggests that digital media is more prevalent in secondary education compared to primary schools.

As the demand for modern educational practices increases, many teachers express a need for greater support and resources to effectively integrate digital technologies into their curriculum. The findings underscore the necessity for professional development and institutional backing to enhance the digital competencies of educators.

Furthermore, the study reveals that there is a noticeable gap in the usage of digital media, particularly in primary schools, where engagement with technology is reportedly lower than in middle and high schools.
