Fatal Accident Involving 65-Year-Old Woman and Children's Scooter

A tragic incident occurred in Neudau, located in the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district, where a 65-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries following a fall while riding a children's scooter. The accident took place on Saturday evening during a family stroll.

The victim, a resident of Burgenland, was accompanied by her stepdaughter and two young grandchildren when the mishap happened around 7:15 PM. As she rode the scooter along a slightly sloped pathway that was covered with gravel, she lost her balance and fell, resulting in severe head injuries. Notably, she was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Emergency services were alerted promptly, and a doctor was dispatched to the scene to provide initial medical assistance. Subsequently, the injured woman was airlifted by a rescue helicopter to a hospital in Graz for further treatment. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, she later died from her injuries.

This incident underscores the importance of safety precautions, particularly the need for protective gear such as helmets when engaging in activities that could pose a risk of injury.
