On Friday evening, a vehicle was observed swerving along the Vienna South-East Tangent (A23) heading northward. Officers from the regional traffic department, who were conducting a focused operation, noticed the car, which bore Polish license plates, around 8:00 PM. According to police spokesperson Anna Gutt, when the officers signaled for the driver to pull over for a routine check, the individual attempted to flee.

After a brief pursuit, law enforcement successfully stopped the vehicle. The 36-year-old driver had a compelling reason for his attempt to escape: he presented officers with a driver's license that belonged to a friend. When questioned about the significant discrepancy between the photo on the license and his appearance, he claimed it was his friend's identification since he did not possess a valid license himself.

Adding to the situation, a vacant vodka bottle was found on the passenger seat, which contributed to the understanding of his high blood alcohol content of 2.3%. As a result of his reckless behavior, the authorities denied him the ability to continue driving, and he was required to surrender his car keys. Furthermore, the driver is facing charges for the use of another person's identification as well as violations of traffic regulations.
