Donkeys Take Center Stage at Emmersdorf's Animal Olympics

Sun 20th Apr, 2025

Excitement is building at the Wachauer Eselabenteuer-Hof in Pömling as preparations ramp up for a unique event: the Animal Olympics featuring donkeys. Scheduled for April 27, starting at 2 PM, this event promises to showcase the remarkable abilities of these gentle creatures.

The ten participating donkeys, each with a distinct name--Bonifaz, Columbus, Dimitri, Frederik, Fridolin, Kasimir, Kunibert, Ottokar, Sokrates, and Stanislaus--are ready to entertain and engage attendees with their performances. Rather than being obstinate, these animals are known for their cautious and friendly demeanor, making them ideal participants for a day of fun and competition.

During the Olympics, the donkeys will compete in a variety of entertaining challenges, including high jump, obstacle courses, and even team sports like basketball and football. The event aims to highlight the unique skills of the donkeys while providing a delightful experience for all spectators.

Furthermore, in a nod to traditional Olympic festivities, an Olympic flame will be presented to mark the occasion, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. Event organizers, led by Anita Brunner, assure attendees that the day will be filled with laughter, awe, and unforgettable memories as visitors witness the incredible talents of these donkey athletes.

In addition to the competitions, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a donkey photo shoot, allowing for memorable keepsakes with these charming stars of the event. The Esel-Olympiade is expected to draw crowds eager to enjoy an afternoon of entertainment in a family-friendly environment.

This unique celebration not only promotes animal welfare but also fosters community spirit by bringing people together for a day of joy and camaraderie. The event serves as a reminder of the joy that animals can bring and the special bonds that can form between humans and animals.

Join us at the Eselabenteuer-Hof for a day where the only thing more impressive than the donkey performances will be the smiles on the faces of spectators young and old.
