A 25-year-old tourist from China experienced a harrowing incident on Saturday evening while cycling in the picturesque region of St. Wolfgang, located in the Gmunden district. The individual was navigating a challenging section of the Schwarzenseestraße towards Rußbach when he lost control of his e-mountainbike and fell approximately 35 meters into a gorge.

The accident occurred on a steep stretch of road, where the cyclist slipped, went under a guardrail, and fell into the ravine. Fortunately, his descent was partially cushioned by a water basin, which helped to mitigate the impact.

After the fall, the cyclist managed to pull himself onto a rocky ledge within the gorge. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was unable to move any further. Emergency services, including firefighters and mountain rescue teams, quickly responded to the scene and worked diligently to extract him from the challenging terrain.

Once rescued, the injured man was airlifted to a hospital via a rescue helicopter, where he received the necessary medical attention for his injuries. Authorities have not released further details regarding his condition.
