Vienna Police Headquarters to Host Blood Donation Drive

Sun 29th Jun, 2025

On June 30, 2025, the Vienna Police Headquarters will be the venue for a significant blood donation initiative. This event is part of a collaborative effort between the Austrian Red Cross and the Ministry of the Interior, with the aim of encouraging community members to contribute to the vital supply of blood.

Interior Minister Gerhard Karner is scheduled to meet with key representatives from the Austrian Red Cross, including President Gerald Schöpfer, Federal Rescue Commander Gerald Foitik, and Secretary General Michael Opriesnig. This meeting will precede the blood donation drive, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in promoting public health and safety.

The blood donation event is set to commence at 9:15 AM in the Festsaal of the Bundeskriminalamt, located at Josef-Holaubek-Platz 1, 1090 Vienna. Media representatives are warmly invited to cover the event, which underscores the ongoing efforts to bolster blood donation campaigns in the region.

As the need for blood remains critical in various medical situations--from surgeries to emergency care--events like this serve as a reminder of the importance of community engagement in ensuring a ready supply. The collaboration between governmental bodies and humanitarian organizations like the Red Cross exemplifies a unified approach to addressing health care needs.

Individuals interested in participating in the blood donation are encouraged to attend, as each donation can potentially save multiple lives. The event not only aims to collect blood but also to raise awareness about the necessity of regular donations and the impact they have on the healthcare system.
