About Zum Kräuterweible

The Kräuterweible owes its name to a lovable figure from the Thirty Years' War, a poor refugee widow who created bread and clothing for herself and her son through a rich treasure of knowledge, both in reading and writing, as well as inherited home remedies, blessings, and especially healing herbs and roots that she collected, with which she healed and sold to pharmacies. The coat of arms affixed to the house from 1596 refers to an unknown previous owner and bears witness to his civic pride.
