The Waldgaststätte Friedrichsruh is owned by the Oberkotzau Beautification Association e.V. Since 1987, it has been run with great passion by the hosts Gabi Korn & Werner Knöfel. The restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere amidst cultivated natural landscapes, serving freshly tapped beer, a variety of drinks, and a large selection of homemade Franconian specialties, as well as coffee and self-baked cakes. All dishes are prepared fresh with selected ingredients and products from the region. It is an ideal stop for hikers and cyclists, with ample parking available. For children, there is a forest playground. In the warm season, guests can relax on the sun terrace or in the beer garden under the shade of trees. The venue hosts summer festivals with live music and an annual winter solstice celebration on December 21, featuring grilled specialties and mulled wine.
